Ladybug week is over, but our ladybug observation continues into this week...
Our ladybug larva have grown so much!
They are about 2x the size they were when we received them and we even have two ladybug larva that have changed into PUPA!
Today we read that after the ladybug emerges from the pupa stage, they have no spots but develop them within an hour of changing. We wonder if we will see any ladybugs without spots in our ladybug land.
Day 1...
You can barely see the little larva!
And after 1 week of growing, we have Day 8:
We have added a few leaves and raisins to our ladybug habitat, since we have read that ladybugs LOVE raisins!
Here is a picture of the second and third stages in the life cycle of a ladybug...
Second Stage is Larva and Third Stage is Pupa.
Can you see the pupa in the next picture?
