Day 2 in the Me and My Family monthly theme, and our
topic of the day is Brothers & Sisters!
We talked about brothers and sisters of the preschool students
and students were asked to share if their brother/sister was older or younger than them and what kinds of things you like to do with their siblings.
We learned the nursery rhyme "Jack and Jill", since Jack and Jill were brother and sister. We watched a short animation so the kids could get the idea...
And then we read aloud the poster, while we pointed to the individual words in the nursery rhyme...
Following our learning about the nursery rhyme, the kids did some sorting of foam circles (shape of the month) in our colors of the month, yellow and green. We used tiny pails, just like Jack and Jill used to fetch their water...
Finally the kids colored pictures of Jack and Jill and their hill, cut out Jack and Jill (with help) and acted out the nursery rhymes with their newly created finger puppets...
